ICYMI: MFXtra: The Scottish Announce Table – Ep 22.

The latest from our friends at the MFX Podcast! Follow them at @MFXPodcast for great tweets!

Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means. The lads pay tribute to the recently passed John Huber (Brodie Lee/Luke Harper), they talk about AEW’s response, the response from the wrestling community as a whole and marvel at how universally loved and respected he was. They unload both barrels on former PW Torch columnist Bruce Mitchell for his tone deaf, click bait, speculating on the death of Huber article and the fall out from that. It’s a tough way to open the show, but hopefully we were able to express our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

The lads try to lighten the mood with some chat about their respective Christmases. Duckman has been spending time with his parents, which is always a fun time. He learns all about an old lady who has an amazing back-story, and his Dad ignores him on Christmas Eve to binge watch a TV show! Then it’s end of year awards time. The lads announce all the big winners and losers, as voted for by the MFX Galaxy. There’s plenty of laughs to be had as George realises maybe he doesn’t have his finger on the pulse of what is popular in wrestling these days.

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review. This week it’s one of Duckman’s favourite PPVs of all time – WCW Great American Bash 1989. It’s an absolute riot of a show with awesome matches, crazy characters, the hottest crowd in history and so much great late 80s wrestling the lads nearly lose their minds at the greatness of this show! Flair, Sting, Luger, Muta, Steamboat, Steiners, SID! Just some of the best to ever do this at their peak! A true must watch show and a great way to end the year for SATP.

This has been such a tough week for wrestling, we lost one of the true good guys. The year in general has been an ongoing nightmare. Doing this show has been one of the true highlights for the lads and we thank everyone who listened to and interacted with the show this year. We truly appreciate you all and hope we all have a better year in 2021.

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.
